Students of the Faculty of Contemporary Arts at an international workshop in Madeira (Portugal)
The Dean of the Faculty of Contemporary Arts, Prof. Dr. Dragan Ćalović, presented certificates to the students of this faculty who successfully participated in an international art workshop held at the University of Madeira from February 26 to March 1, 2024. The Faculty of Contemporary Arts, as a member of the prestigious academic network GIDE, participates in international student workshops organized each year at another member institution of the group.[/vc_column_text]
This year, the University of Madeira hosted professors and students from eight member universities of the Group. In addition to students and professors from the Faculty of Contemporary Arts, representatives of art faculties such as Politecnico Milano (Italy), Thomas More University (Belgium), Universidade da Madeira (Portugal), University of Dundee (United Kingdom), Faculty of Design (Slovenia), University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (Switzerland), Universidad Politecnica de Valencia (Spain), and University of Texas (United States) participated in the workshop. The topic of this year’s workshop was “Beyond Tourism – Co-design approaches to empower local communities”. On this occasion, students of the Faculty of Contemporary Arts had the opportunity to learn about the methodology of co-design approaches to solving artistic problems, gain new knowledge about the local community and cultural assumptions, attend lectures by distinguished professors from other universities, develop collaboration skills, work in an international environment, make new acquaintances, and gain significant international references that will open up new opportunities in their future professional work. Students of the Faculty of Contemporary Arts, Nataša Ulemek, Aleksandar Pešić, Marija Hrkač, Katarina Majmunović, Anđela Dimitrijević, Tanja Dragišić, Anastasija Marinković, Magdalena Dužanić, and Jana Buha, represented the Faculty of Contemporary Arts in the best possible way, receiving numerous praises from professors from other universities. The professorial part of the Faculty of Contemporary Arts team consisted of Prof. Dušanka Komnenić, D.A. and Prof. Jovanka Mladenović, D.A. The next GIDE group student workshop will be held next year, with the Polytechnic University of Valencia as the host.
