Andjela Petrovic / / News / 18. 12. 2023.
With are proud to announce that two professors from our faculty, Jovanka Mladenović and Đorđe Stanojević, have been selected to be part of a group of ten artists representing the Serbian contemporary art scene in New York. They are exhibiting their works at an exhibition titled “Finding a Way”. This extraordinary exhibition was opened on Thursday, December 14, 2023, by the Consul of Serbia in New York, Vladimir Božović (http://www.gallerymc.org/h/).
The exhibition “Finding a Way” offers insight into the Serbian art scene through the works of two generations of artists engaged in painting, drawing, and sculpture. Their works explore current themes such as alienation in today’s society, climate change, existential insecurity, and the reinterpretation of history through the prism of popular culture.
The exhibition will last for two months.
It is a great pleasure to be one of the artists representing Serbia and the domestic art scene in America. “Finding a Way – Serbian Contemporary Art in New York” is an exhibition initiated by a private initiative with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia and has already been successfully presented in Washington (Embassy of the Republic of Serbia and Anacostia Arts Center, (https://anacostiaartscenter.com/about/) in 2022.
It is a great honor and pleasure that our professors have been included in this prestigious exhibition. We wish Professors Jovanka Mladenović and Đorđe Stanojević many more successes in their future work.
