Belgrade will host AI Film Fest Serbia on 15th and 16th March 2025, a unique event dedicated to artificial intelligence in the film industry. Organised in collaboration with the Faculty of Contemporary Arts (FSU), the Serbian AI Association, the Higher School of IT (ITS), and the Secondary School of IT (ITHS), this festival presents a special film and panel programme exploring new technologies in the world of cinema.
AI Film Fest Serbia has established a significant collaboration with the International Film Festival of Larissa (IFFL) in Greece, securing exclusive rights to screen the award-winning films from the Larissa Lumina AI Short Film Festival. This festival is one of the pioneers in exploring the use of artificial intelligence in cinematic art, and AI Film Fest Serbia will showcase selected films from its competitive programme.
The International Film Festival of Larissa is an annual cultural event held in Larissa, Greece, dedicated to promoting the art of cinema worldwide. Founded to support independent filmmakers and encourage cross-cultural dialogue, the festival features a diverse selection of feature films, documentaries, and short films. It serves as a platform for emerging and established directors to present their work, participate in workshops, masterclasses, and panel discussions.
In 2024, the festival introduced an innovative segment, Larissa Lumina: 1st AI Short Film Festival, marking a pioneering step in exploring the intersection of artificial intelligence and cinema. This programme highlights the creative potential of AI-generated storytelling through short films that use artificial intelligence in production, narration, and visual design.
This festival confirms that the Faculty of Contemporary Arts is a leader in integrating new technologies into education and artistic processes.
