On Saturday, November 28, 2020, the first Annual Science Conference entitled “Art, Media, Communication: New Approaches, New Paradigms” took place at the Faculty of Contemporary Arts.
The goal of the conference was to present research results in various artistic and scientific areas designed to contribute to a (self-)critical perception of the arts, media and other communication practices. In addition, finding new approaches and/or paradigms is considered to be particularly relevant for a comprehensive understanding of current positions and roles of artistic, media and other communication practices, and for determining their impact on individuals and society as a whole.

The following participants gave presentations at the conference: Divna Vuksanović, “New Normalcy: Without Culture, Art and Communication” (Faculty of Dramatic Arts, Belgrade); Petar Grujičić, “Monologic Transformation of Theater” (Academy of Arts, University of Novi Sad); Dragan Ćalović, “Humanistic Tendencies in Performance Art” (Faculty of Contemporary Arts, University Business Academy in Novi Sad); Dušica M. Students from Poland and four FCA students took part in student session
The student session included presentations of Marta Polcin, a student at Torun University (Poland), as well as FCA students Danica Spasić, Vanja Lazović, Milena Živković and Tamara Lučić.
Considering that it’s utopian to believe there is only one correct view of art, media and other communication practices, the goal of the conference organizers was to offer a wide range of perspectives aimed at fully comprehending the aforementioned phenomena so as to highlight their significance for the modern world. The presentations opened up new angles on current issues in art, media and communication, and encouraged dialog with a focus on their interdependence, interaction, and implications on society.
