The exhibition “Painting by Nature”, whose author is FCA’s professor and Visual Arts Department head Đorđe Stanojević, which took place at the Progress Gallery from April 24 to May 15, attracted a lot of attention.
In less than a month, over 500 people seized the opportunity to enjoy his works. Above all, custodians, fellow artists and students had a chance to experience the art which professor Stanojević develops through a dialogue with nature. He uses a quite specific painting methodology, based on using natural materials and the effect of natural forces that form the painting.
10 years of “Nature & art”
This is why he left his Belgrade atelier and formed an art center in western Serbia, in Osečina. The platform, known as “Nature & Art Project”, has been active for a decade, bringing together artists from all over the world who explore how natural processes can be turned into artistic ones. The development of this project can be observed at www.djordjestanojevic.com.
This is Stanojević’s 33rd solo exhibition. His works are included in important museum’s collections all over the world. As has already been reported, this artist, also a professor at our faculty, has presented Serbia abroad several times lately. His recent exhibitions were in Shanghai, Paris and Beijing.
Following the Belgrade exhibition at the Progress, Đorđe Stanojević will have another show in Belgrade, followed by an exhibition in Novi Sad.
