Professor of the Faculty of Contemporary Arts Dušanka Komnenić is the winner of the competition within the Erasmus+ project, KA131 mobility projects for the winter semester. As part of that program, she was a guest lecturer at the Department of Visual Communications Design at the Faculty of Design in Ljubljana.
Professor Komnenić held a lecture and workshop for the students entitled: “Deconstructive Approaches to Graphic Design”. The students had the task to make collages based on the given topic and the lecture. At the end of the lecture, they handed over the finished works, which will be printed and exhibited in the FCA Gallery. In this way, the goal of the whole project, which is the exchange of ideas and professional practice between two higher education institutions, will be achieved.
The idea of mobility was successfully implemented
The visit to the Faculty of Design in Ljubljana was successful on many levels:
- The students of the Faculty of Design were motivated and worked hard.
- The lecture was inspiring and informative and helped them see the subject from a different angle.
- Professor Barbara Dovečar, the head of the Department for Visual Communications, and professor Dušanka Komnenić have made a long-term cooperation plan.
- The founder and dean of the Faculty of Design, Professor Nada Rožmanec Matičič, made suggestions for new chapters of cooperation.
“This was certainly an exceptional experience for me as well. Displacement from the usual contributes to a better perception of one’s own successes and motivates for further improvement and development on a personal and professional level”, concluded FCA professor Dušanka Komnenić.
The competition was demanding but extremely important for the exchange of ideas, professional practice and expertise between the two institutions.
