It is our great honor and pleasure to inform you that the Faculty of Contemporary Arts has become a full member of GIDE – the academic group for international design education.

GIDE Group represents an academic network of selected partner institutions that maintain very close relationships, which is why the group’s stance is that the admission of new member faculties can only be expanded to a limited extent, even when considering institutions with visiting status. In addition to the alignment of processes with European standards, which is a prerequisite for considering the membership of a new partner institution, all member faculties must receive a high assessment of teaching quality and educational outcomes, and obtain a positive recommendation from other member faculties.

The current member faculties of the GIDE group are:

This is a significant achievement for a domestic faculty, and obtaining partner status is simultaneously an indicator of the recognition and reputation that our faculty enjoys in the international academic community among European faculties of this orientation. In this way, the Faculty of Contemporary Arts has officially become part of the academic community of the most reputable European design faculties.

At the same time, membership in this academic group will enable students of the Faculty of Contemporary Arts to:

  • participate in student exchange programs lasting one semester at GIDE group member institutions;
  • participate in the annual international exhibition, as well as in the workshop organized each year at another member institution, which hosts the event that year.

The first upcoming workshop and exhibition in which FCA students will have the opportunity to participate will be held in February 2024 at the University of Madeira (Portugal). More information about the GIDE group can be found on their website.

We would like to thank all the professors and students of the Faculty of Contemporary Arts who contributed to this outstanding success. This is evidence that effort, work, and dedication pay off and that quality and innovation are recognized not only in our country but also worldwide.
