PROFESSOR AT FCA, STEVAN ALEKSIĆ, CREATES TWO NEW COVERS FOR THE FILMS “WAKE OF DEATH” AND “POUND OF FLESH” FOR THE GERMAN MARKET

/ / News / 24. 03. 2023.

The work of Stevan Aleksić, associate professor at the Faculty of Contemporary Arts, visual artist, scenographer, and illustrator, will be featured on the cover of the Blu-Ray Mediabook editions of the films “Wake of Death” from 2004 and “Pound of Flesh” from 2015 for the German market.

In this way, Stevan Aleksić continues his series of successes in illustrating films of Jean-Claude Van Damme, with the renowned actor once again sharing his work on social media:

SUCCESSFUL COLLABORATION WITH GERMAN COMPANY “RETRO GOLD 63”

The German company “Retro Gold 63“, specializing in film distribution, this year hired professor Stevan to illustrate covers for exclusive, limited Blu-Ray Mediabook editions of well-known Van Damme films, following several instances over the past two years where the famous actor shared the professor’s illustrated posters on his official Facebook page, accompanied by words of praise.

As a reminder, the first cover that Stevan illustrated for the German market was for the film “The Quest” (1996). All 333 copies of that edition were sold out, mainly due to its attractive cover.

JEAN-CLAUDE VAN DAMME EXPRESSES HIS ENTHUSIASM FOR THE NEW DESIGN EXAMPLES

These days, for the same company, I illustrated the second and third covers for Van Damme’s films “Wake of Death” (2004) and “Pound of Flesh” (2015), which sparked fantastic reactions among collectors, with all copies selling out rapidly. However, the greatest satisfaction is knowing that the great Jean-Claude Van Damme, the hero of my childhood, once again shared these illustrations on his page, thereby reaffirming his appreciation for my work, and further confirming it with his comments and messages through his media consultants.

THE CREATIVE ENDEAVOR CONTINUES: PREPARATIONS FOR THE NEXT ILLUSTRATION ARE UNDERWAY

I am currently preparing to illustrate the fourth cover for the German market, this time for “Six Bullets”, Van Damme’s film from 2012, and I am looking forward to it not only because it is a creative endeavor but also because I have become the main illustrator for the company “Retro Gold 63”, for which I have also illustrated covers for Blu-Ray Mediabook editions of films such as “Beowulf” (1999) starring Christopher Lambert, “Abduction” (2019) starring martial arts star Scott Adkins, as well as the cult classic “Split Second” (1992) featuring the unique Rutger Hauer. Many more surprises await in the future.

Professor’s outstanding Blu-Ray Mediabook editions will be available for purchase to collectors worldwide who appreciate illustrated covers and primarily decide to buy them precisely because of the covers, which represent small works of art.

Congratulations to our professor, and we look forward to his future professional successes!
