We are proud to share with you the news of the great success of our professor of stage movement, Marina Bukvički. The project “Port of Love”, which emerged as part of her doctoral work at the Institute for Artistic Dance during the pandemic, has been recognized in the “KVART Belgrade Waterfront” contest. KVART Belgrade Waterfront is an initiative aimed at supporting the Serbian contemporary art scene and providing new opportunities and space for creative expression. It brings together painters, designers, musicians, actors, dancers, and many other artists and innovators, whose work synergizes with the new urban area on the banks of the Sava River.
The project “Port of Love,” realized in collaboration with Prof. Dr. Snežana Arnautović Stjepanović and Angela Antić, a former acting student at our faculty, was among the top 23 entries in the contest and then among the top eight to be installed in the heart of Belgrade. Additionally, the work of this team was selected for the award for contemporary furniture, which is an exceptional achievement, especially amidst the strong competition in the field of arts. “Luka ljubavi” consists of eight artistic ships (benches) with dimensions of 2 m x 2 m, made of stainless steel. Each of them has its name and personal emotional story, connecting each individual with other people on the new planet, confirming the fact that none of us is alone. Contributing to the project was also Professor Maja Vukadinović from our faculty, who helped convey the project’s idea through an essay. All of this demonstrates the power of creativity and innovation, which we foster at the Faculty of Contemporary Arts. Congratulations to Professor Marina Bukvički and her team on this great success, and we look forward to future triumphs!
