Awakening another, almost palpable dimension in music has been Nikola’s purpose for two decades. With an insatiable thirst for knowledge and talent that surpasses his youth, he embarked on a journey that would shape him into a truly unique artistic personality. Even as a six-year-old with an affinity for suits and bow ties, he was happiest immersing himself in Bach’s polyphony, playful Mozart sonatas, and Chopin’s rubato. At this early age, he also discovered the fire of Beethoven’s compositions and the multitude of musical layers hidden within his works.

Nikola’s curiosity and analytical mind led him to the stage and to his first solo concert at the age of thirteen. By then, he had a clear vision of his life’s path. The same passion and dedication helped him build a reputation as one of the most promising pianists of his generation, a reputation that endures today and defines his work.

Just five years later, in 2008, he performed side by side in a duo with distinguished pianist and professor Aleksandar Serdar, who became his mentor at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade. Professor Serdar also influenced Nikola’s piano playing and musical development, inspiring him to refine his performance technique and expand the range of tonal colors.

That same year, Nikola was the youngest participant in the National Concert Season organized by the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Serbia, which allowed him to further explore and gain new experiences in concert performance through his unwavering fascination with discovering new sonic nuances.

Interestingly, Nikola’s education rests on an impressive lineage of musical minds that, by circumstance, extend from Aleksandar Serdar, Leon Fleisher, and Artur Schnabel, to none other than Beethoven himself. Intuitively chosen guidance consistently guided Nikola through the educational legacy of Beethoven’s pedagogical lineage, which he admired throughout his life.

At that moment, Nikola’s solo musical artistry began to be recognized internationally, where his tireless work and talent were rewarded. He was recognized as a musician who made a significant contribution to chamber music through various original projects. Nikola’s chamber music reached its peak in collaboration with eminent violinist Sreten Krstić, concertmaster of the Munich Philharmonic.

During his years of academic development, Nikola expanded his skills and knowledge by exploring other schools of thought and learning from giants of contemporary pedagogy and piano performance such as Paul Badura-Skoda, Boris Petrushansky, Ronald Brautigam, and Martin Hughes. His musical sensibility was influenced by excellent professors and pianists including Pietro De Maria, Andrea Lucchesini, Cordelia Höffer-Teutsch, and Baruch Meir.

Nikola’s art PhD project represents the culmination of his education in which he explores the idea, existence, and interpretation of the concept of fantasy in nineteenth-century piano music, as well as the numerous interpretive values of this phenomenon. During the project, he turns to his lifelong inspiration, Beethoven, as well as Mendelssohn, Chopin, and Brahms. Nikola’s doctoral thesis encompasses his fascination with music as an embodiment of imagination, which has inhabited him since early childhood, celebrating the enduring legacy of piano heritage.

That imagination and clarity of goals continue to fuel his dedication to teaching, performance, and continuous improvement even today. Above all, his work revitalizes the entire cosmos of senses with his unique interpretations, giving already timeless works another touch of immortality.

Nikola actively contributes to the cultural and academic scene in Serbia as a pianist, accompanist, piano professor, lecturer, and researcher in the field of classical music.
