SIX AWARDS FOR ACTING STUDENTS IN THE CLASS OF LJILJANA BLAGOJEVIĆ

We are pleased to inform you that the play by acting students in the class of Ljiljana Blagojević has been awarded six recognitions at the International Festival of Student Theaters “Kestenburg” in Banja Luka.
This is a significant recognition for the Faculty of Contemporary Arts and its students, considering that this result has been unprecedented in the history of the mentioned festival. Out of the six awards won, two are collective, and four are individual. One individual award was received by regular professor Ljiljana Blagojević, while former associate professor Kalina Kovačević received three individual awards.
- The award for collective performance was given to third-year drama students for the play “Bekstvo ka sebi”. The ensemble of the play was presented with this award by actress Nadežda Kostić.
- The award for the best pedagogical work was given to full professor Ljiljana Blagojević. The award was presented to her by Nebojša Drinić, a member of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska.
- The “Grand Prize” was awarded to the Faculty of Contemporary Arts for the play “Bekstvo ka sebi”, authored by Ljiljana Blagojević and Kalina Kovačević. The decision was unanimous, and the award was presented to the winners by Elena Kostić, an actress and president of the jury.
- The award for total design was given to former associate professor at the Faculty of Contemporary Arts, Kalina Kovačević, for the play “Bekstvo ka sebi”. The award was presented to the recipient by legendary RK “Borac” player and former Serbian national team handball player Mladen Bojinović.
- The award for pedagogical work was given to a former associate professor at the Faculty of Contemporary Arts, Kalina Kovačević. The award was presented to her by Milada Šukalo, an advisor to the Mayor of Banja Luka for social activities.
- The award for choreography was given to former associate professor at the Faculty of Contemporary Arts, Kalina Kovačević, for the play “Bekstvo ka sebi”. The award was presented to her by Nikola Vukčević, a councilor in the Banja Luka City Assembly.
The fifth International Festival of Student Theaters “Kestenburg” concluded with the ceremonial award ceremony at the Art Cinema of the Cultural Center “Banski Dvor” in Banja Luka. The festival brought together actors from six continents, and the competitive program consisted of twelve plays from student theaters from Serbia, France, Italy, Bulgaria, Sri Lanka, Nigeria, Australia, the USA, Peru, and Iran, which were previously performed in Banja Luka, Belgrade, Vienna, and San Francisco.
The expert jury panel of the Golden Selection of this year’s International Festival of Student Theaters “Kestenburg” consisted of actresses Tamara Dragičević (jury president), Ana Lečić, and Nadežda Kostić (members). In addition to the “Golden Chestnut” award, the ceremony also featured the presentation of the “Silver Chestnut” and “Bronze Chestnut” awards, as awards from the festival management.
