/ / News / 21. 04. 2023.

Third-year acting students from FCA, in the class of full professor Ljiljana Blagojević, submitted a recording of their exam performance from the fifth semester of acting titled “Bekstvo ka sebi” to several international festivals. It is a stage presentation of excerpts from ancient tragedies directed and dramaturgically adapted by Assistant Professor Kalina Kovačević, then a guidance counselor at the Faculty of Contemporary Arts.

Soon after, they received notification that the play had passed the selection process and was included in the competition program of two major festivals:

1. THE INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF THEATRE SCHOOLS – ISTROPOLITANA PROJECT 2023, HELD IN BRATISLAVA FROM JUNE 1 TO 7, 2023.

The International Festival of Theatre Schools, known as the “Istropolitana Project“, was established in 1977 and is held biennially. So far, 84 schools from around the world have participated in it. With its competitive segment, this festival is a significant event in the context of Slovak culture and the theater education system in the Central European region, and it is the only festival of its kind in Slovakia. The festival aims to enable a creative encounter of the youngest generation of theater artists from domestic and international schools and to present different approaches and poetics.

2. INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF STUDENT THEATRE KESTENBURG 2023

The International Festival of Student Theaters, Kestenburg, will last for six months and will be organized on five continents. The competition program includes 12 student plays from 6 continents with representatives from Italy, Bulgaria, France, Republika Srpska, Sri Lanka, Iran, Nigeria, Australia, the USA, Peru, and Serbia. The announcement of the winners will take place on June 19 in Banja Luka.

Congratulations to the students and their professor Ljiljana Blagojević on this incredible success, and we eagerly await more good news and responses from other festivals, where the selection process is still ongoing.
